temple Báimǎ Sì
White Horse Temple
The first Buddhist temple in China, founded in AD 68, with Indian, Thai and Burmese halls next door.
Named for the horses that carried the first sutras from India. The old Chinese halls are the point; the foreign-built temples in the grounds are a curiosity. Bus 56 from the old town or a taxi.
