Half an hour from Xiamen, and almost nobody makes the trip

Trains from Xiamen North reach Quanzhou station in about half an hour, and the station is ten kilometres north of the old town, so add a taxi or a bus at each end. Fuzhou is an hour the other way.

Two nights is right: one for the old town on foot, one for Xunpu and the Luoyang Bridge. Come between October and April; from May to September the humidity makes the lanes hard work. Most people fly into Xiamen and come across by train.
