National Library English Salon
The Thursday sibling of the Xicheng salon, run by the same volunteer organiser, 北京英语角 (Beijing English Corner). Two hours of discussion in English, free, currently in its #414–420 block.
Not a drop-in. You apply by email beforehand and are screened, members take turns hosting, and the organiser asks for a commitment to come regularly. It suits someone living in Beijing, not someone passing through for the weekend.
The listing gives the meeting point only as "near the National Library"; the exact spot comes with your confirmation.
Sessions usually pause over the National Day holiday (1–7 October). Apply, and check the current dates, on the Douban event page.
Events are posted by members, not by us. Meet in public, tell someone where you're going, and report anything that feels off.
