Xijiang Miao Village
A thousand wooden houses stacked up two hillsides. Three hours east; stay the night.
High-speed train to Kaili South, then an hour by bus. Commercial at the bottom, real at the top; the view from the far hillside at night, when the houses light up, is the thing. Silver, embroidery and rice wine at the welcome.
