Wuhan's morning ritual is bought at a window and eaten on the move: hot dry noodles with sesame paste and pickles, doupi cut from a huge pan, mianwo doughnuts, soup dumplings at Sijimei.
Hubu Alley is the famous street and mostly serves visitors. Liangdao Street in Wuchang is where the city actually eats, from about six until nine, and after that the shutters come down. Order by pointing, pay by QR, and stir the noodles hard the moment you get them.
