Wutong Mountain

The Haohanpo route from the western gate is the direct one, stairs most of the way, with tea sellers at the top; the Bijia and eastern paths take longer and climb more gently. Start early — the park opens at six and the last stretch has no shade. Free and no booking needed. The wild azaleas flower in March and the whole city turns up, so go on a weekday if you can.
