Stone Forest
A maze of limestone pinnacles 90 minutes away. Go early, then walk past the tour groups.
Trains from Kunming to Shilin West take 20 minutes, then a bus. The main loop is crowded; the Naigu Stone Forest and the outer paths are not. Sani Yi villages around it.
