Elephant Trunk Hill

象鼻山
Xiàngbí Shān

The city's emblem: a limestone hill on the Li that dips its trunk into the river.

Best seen from the water's edge or from across the river, early in the morning or towards dusk, when the arch and its reflection make a full circle. It sits a short walk south of the city centre, so it fits around a train or a first evening. Rules on entry and booking have changed in recent years; check the park's official channels before you go.
